Cameron Todd Willingham (9 Janvier 1968 - 17 Février 2004) était un citoyen américain, accusé d'avoir volontairement mis le feu au domicile familial dans lequel périrent ses trois enfants, à Corsicana, Texas, le 23 décembre 1991. Il fut exécuté le 17 février 2004.

L'affaire Willingham revient sous les feux des médias en 2009 quand David Grann publie, dans The New Yorker, une enquête qui, s'appuyant sur des rapports d'experts en incendie criminel et sur les progrès de la science en matière de feu depuis l'enquête de 1992, insinue que la preuve d'incendie volontaire est peu convaincante et que si ces informations avaient été disponibles à l'époque du procès, elles auraient préparé le terrain pour un acquittement de Willingham.

 

Cameron Todd Willingham (January 9, 1968 – February 17, 2004) was an American man who was convicted of murdering his three young children by arson at the family home in Corsicana, Texas on December 23, 1991.

He was executed on 17 February 2004.

Willingham's case gained renewed attention in 2009 when an investigative report by David Grann in The New Yorker, drawing upon arson investigation experts and advances in fire science since the 1992 investigation, suggested that the evidence for arson was unconvincing and, had this information been available at the time of trial, would have provided grounds for Willingham's acquittal.
